My Cat

Posted by pianowow on April 25, 2007

I bought a “Cat Tree” for my cat, and the first day she was messing with it, I recorded her trying to reach her favorite toy on the top shelf. I then edited the video with some video editing software on my computer. Click the title to see the video on youtube.

Alternatively you can download the video here.

More!?

Posted by pianowow on April 9, 2007

I keep telling myself to stop, and usually I’m pretty good about curbing addictions when I want to, but this shopping one has got me scratching my head lately. Yes, I’m a guy, and I’m addicted to buying stuff. Not clothes mind you… though I did buy two shirts and a pair of jeans the other day, but try to forget about that.

Last week, I bought a Series 2 Dual Tuner Tivo, which is great. I love it. My parents have several, and I miss it when I’m at my place.

I bought a new entertainment center last weekend because my old one’s wheel came off. My friend was nice enough to help me set it up. Thanks dude! The new one looks much better, and is more to my taste anyway. I’ll see if I can post a picture at some point.

I bought a new mp3 player, the SanDisk Sansa, this weekend also. It kicks ass. It plays videos, displays pictures, plays my music, tunes fm radio, and is tiny. Everything I’d ever want. It’s only 2 gig now, but once I buy a mini-SD card, that will increase significantly.

My cat has also benefited from my recent shopping spree. She got two new pieces of furniture to cozy up to or play with as she sees fit.

But you guys have to help me out… please smack me upside the head if I spend much more money. Luckily all my most recent purchases came out of my bank account (no more credit card debt, I hope), because I got my $600 tax refund Friday! Hooah! As you can tell, I’ve already spent most of it. Oh well…

Intercooler Saves the Day

Posted by pianowow on March 5, 2007

My cat is very curious. But she is in no danger of being killed by it. At least not yet. :-) She has this fascination with the back of my entertainment center, and has unplugged wires by going back there. So I have tried my best to secure the area. From left to right in my living room I have a bookcase, entertainment center, and desk. Behind the book case, I stuffed a blanket, so she cannot enter that way. There’s no space between the TV stand and book case. And on the right side, my desk is flat up against the wall, or close enough that there is not enough space for her to get through. That leaves the middle, the most difficult area to secure.

There are two main entry points in the middle she has figured out how to take advantage of. The space below the TV where my XBox and my cable box live, and the space between my desk and tv stand, where the trash can lives. I need to move my desk closer to the TV, squeezing the trashcan between the two so she cannot tip it over and jump over it to get behind there. That leaves the entertainment center cubby-hole. I have put all my XBox games, my camera bag, a box of golf balls and two DVD Box sets around my cable box and XBox in an effort to keep that area kitty-proof. If I remove just two XBox games she has enough space to squeeze through, so it is a constant battle.

What with all the stuff stacked around my XBox, I have found that it started to freeze up more often. This is due to the system overheating. So, I bought the Nyko Intercooler to plug into the back. It has worked quite well so far. I added it to the mix on Saturday, and played several times Saturday and Sunday, and no freezes so far.
